If you are looking for an easy way to get around Avalon this summer, take a trolley ride!
The Borough of Avalon and the Avalon Free Public Library are once again presenting trolley service to the Borough this summer. Local businesses also sponsor the trolley, making it easy and affordable for you to get around Avalon any time at all. Once again, this year’s trolley service is provided by the Great American Trolley Company.
Regular daily service will run from July 3rd through September 6th. The trolley will be in service from 4:00pm until 11:00pm daily. Please see the map for the 2009 trolley route.
It’s very easy to hop on board the Avalon trolley. Simply call a trolley driver to find out where the trolley is currently located, and where you want to be picked up along the route. The two phone numbers to use are (609) 846-4062, or (609) 846-4065. The regular fare is only one dollar for a one way trip.
Your trolley ride is free if you are going to any Borough facility, which includes Borough Hall, the Avalon Free Public Library, Avalon History Center, Avalon Community Center, or the Avalon ball field, just tell the driver you are going there and your ride is free to that facility. You may also obtain a free ticket from that facility to ride free on your return trip.
Any participating merchant may also give you a free ride ticket with any purchase or stamp a northbound ticket for a free ride southbound.
